The Telerik Grid is amazingly simple to use and very functional. This sample demonstrates a grid in view mode which is pageable, sortable, groupable and filterable. The interface is very intuitive and is easy to theme. The initial load of the records is done on the server. Ajax is used for subsequent data loads using Json as a response to paging, sorting, filtering or grouping.
The grid offers a large set of Client APIs and Events which permit a great deal of flexibility. The grid supports a "grid model"object which can be manipulated to return subsets of data; this data can be grouped on the client and only with the current data set which improves performance at many levvels. An example of this will be added in the future. There have been several frustrations with grid, particulary with resizing columns, introduce in the latest version. However, fixed columns are not always fixed - more on this later.
